Mariland Sue Seaton

Funeral services for Mariland Sue (Walker) Seaton, 80, of Skiatook, OK, were held Friday, September 1, 2023, at Skiatook Free Will Baptist Church in Skiatook, OK. Pastor Mitchell Leonard officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Aidan Pike, Matthew Rickman, Caius Rickman, Matt Pofahl, Craig Canady, Corey Legg, and Creston Covington. Honorary Casket bearers were Calvin Rickman, Ian Pofahl, Ross Cohen, Pike Canady, and Solomon Legg.

Mariland, known by everyone as Sue, was born August 3, 1943,  Tiawah, OK, to Daniel Hiram Walker and Evelyn Juanita (Griffith) Walker. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family in Tulsa, OK.

Sue had many passions in life, but her greatest passion was the love she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an active member of the Skiatook Free Will Baptist Church where she served in the church nursery, vacation bible school and Awanas. Sue also loved having her fingernails always being painted red, playing cards, amongst her favorites were Pinocle and Pitch, and square dancing where she met her husband, and they would promenade on the dance floor. Sue left an incredible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her, many referred to her as “Momma” Sue. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the warmth of memories she created, and the love she shared with all.

Sue is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Tom Seaton; children, Rick Pike and wife, Rhonda, Melissa Rickman and husband, Brian, and Kevin Seaton and wife, Michelle; stepdaughter, Michelle Cohen and husband, Lee; sister, Sherry Covington and husband, Ron; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Evelyn (Griffith) Walker; brothers, Delbert “Sammy” Walker, Billy Walker, and Danny Ray Walker; and special friend, Donna Sikes.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
