Graveside services for Maggie Marie (Rains) Gibson, 91, of Sperry, OK, were held Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Green Acres Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Pastor Zach Klassen officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Randy Gibson, Neil Gibson, Rocky Gibson, Shane Bay, Derick Bay, Justin Gibson, Joe Campbell, and Bill Moyers.
Maggie, known by everyone as Marie, was born March 13, 1929 in Pryor, OK, to Caryll “Karo” and Lelia (Fisher) Rains. She passed away July 27, 2020 in Bartlesville, OK.
Maggie grew up in Pryor and attended Pryor High School. She owned and operated the Sperry Snack Bar for many years with her husband, Ralph. Maggie was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Sperry, and a longtime member of TOPS. She enjoyed trips to Colorado with Ralph; fishing and exploring the mountain areas. She also enjoyed embroidery; but would rather be outside working in her yard. Maggie loved flowers and feeding the birds and squirrels. Before she became ill, Maggie was an active walker and bike rider Maggie especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and talking on the phone with family and friends. Maggie was a very loving (and patient!) wife, mother, and grandmother, and a caregiver to many, always there when needed. Maggie always went above and beyond to listen, help, support and love her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Robert Gibson of Inola, Steve Gibson of Langley, Don Gibson of Tulsa, and Barbara Webster and husband, David of Sperry; grandchildren, Cindy Campbell and husband, Joe of Coweta, Randy Gibson and wife, Deanna of Tulsa, Michelle Andrews and husband, Brent of Tulsa, Rocky Gibson and wife, Kristin of Inola, Neil Gibson of Langley, and Lindsey Moyers and husband, Bill of Broken Arrow; Shane Bay, Derick Bay, Justin Gibson, Joyce Gibson, Ashley Baldwin, Darian Baldwin Cade Baldwin, Josie Marie Gibson, Hudson Gibson, Hayden Gibson and Hannah Gibson.; great-great-grandchildren, Captain Bay, Amelia Bay, Baylor Bay, Scarlett Bay, and Annabelle Gibson; sister, Iris Coons and husband, Dean of Joplin, MO; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Gibson; son, Terry Gibson; grandson, Jacob David Webster, brothers, C.L. “Salty” Rains and John Rains; and parents, Caryll “Karo” and Lelia Rains.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
