Lynne Marie Mathews

Lynne Marie (Nevel) Mathews was born March 9, 1930 in Maysville, OK, to Edward and Alice Elizabeth Beulah (Burton) Nevel. She passed away February 6, 2021 in Tulsa, OK.

Lynne married Leslie Mathews on October 1, 1947. She was a carhop at Pennington’s Drive In for 10 years. She also loved interior design work and was incredibly talented. Lynn was an active member of the St. Jude’s Church and St. Teresa’s Church.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her four children, Vickie Fresh of Sperry, Dawna Mathews of Sperry, Leslie Mathews, Jr. of Claremore, and Tim Mathews of Owasso; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Almeada Hendrix of Claremore, Onetta Webster of Claremore and Rosetta Genson of Purcell and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Leslie Mathews; parents, Edward and Alice Nevel brothers, Jack Nevel, Joe Nevel, Johnny Nevel and David Nevel; sisters, Peggy Pilgrim, Billie Randall and Mary Nevel.
