Memorial services for Ludie Leona Weems, 43, of Grove, were held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Foundation FreeWill Baptist Church of Grove in Afton, OK. Reverend Sam Smith officiated and honorary casket bearers were Debbie Baker and Lisa Fuller.

Ludie was born January 27, 1968 in Kansas City, MO to George and Maxine (Smoot) Weems. She passed away April 3, 2011 in Bernice, OK.

Ludie was a vocational coach and loved big cats. She was an amazing artist. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing to anyone who would listen. Ludie was an advocate for animals and would take in lost, homeless, sick, or healthy animals. She loved them all and would do the same for anyone that needed a home. She had the most beautiful smile and the warmest heart. Her love and dedication will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Monique Guijarro of Grove, and Petra Martinez of Grove; son, Craig Martinez of Grove; grandson, Matlin Ray Harvey of Chelsea; mother, Margaret Weems of Wichita, KS; brother, Andy Weems of Grove; sister, Debra Baker of Jacksonville, FL; aunt, Patricia Lister of Chandler, AZ; uncle, David Graham of Grove; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Weems; and sister, Carol Jo Kamarta-Samples.
