Funeral Services for Louis Ray "Louie" Smith, 66, of Sperry, were held Friday July 9, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Jason Elmore and Victor Bernhardt officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. The vocalist was Bonnie Ecker. Casket Bearers were Troy Abel, Joe Abel, Chris Trammel, Justin Christian, T.J. Abel, Chris Abel, and Rob Shepherd.

Louie was born March 3, 1944 in Lyons, Kansas to Laura Louise (Rice) and Raymond F. Smith. He passed away July 5, 2010 in Tulsa, OK.

Louie worked for McDonnell Douglas. After 29 years he retired as a fabrication supervisor. He enjoyed coaching softball and spending time watching his grandchildren play sports. Louie enjoyed being a part of seeing children grow up, no child was overlooked. He loved and believed in people. Many would say that he was their rock, the one they could depend on. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Smith of the home; son, Jeremy Scot Smith and wife Michele of Sperry; daughters, Melissa Dawn Garrison and husband Terry of Collinsville, Cathy Seebach of Texas, and Rebecca Wilson of Virginia; grandchildren, Dakota, Casey, and Kelsey Smith all of Sperry, Tyson and Mavrik Garrison both of Collinsville, Jennifer Pauley of Owasso, Jeff Pauley of Kansas, Jessica Christie of Virginia, and Danny Davis of Louisiana; brothers, Kenny Smith and wife Sharon of Owasso, Joe Smith of Claremore, Roy Smith and wife Sandy of Tulsa, and Brad Smith and wife Sabrah of Tulsa; sisters, Pat Casey of Moore and Linda Schaffer of Tulsa; and a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Coloni Rae Smith; mother, Laura Louise Smith; and father, Raymond Fonzo Smith.
