It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Lonnie James Adkins. Lonnie was born on November 29, 1958, in Tulsa, OK to Vernis Lee and Carlos Marie (Young) Adkins. He was called to his heavenly home on April 24, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones and friends at his home in Tulsa, OK.

Lonnie lived an accomplished life as a plant operator and maintenance department worker at PepsiCo. He took great pride in his work and was well respected by his colleagues. However, to those that knew him best, he will always be remembered as an avid fan of OU football - BOOMER SOONER!!! Lonnie could often be found cheering on his beloved Sooners either from the stands or from the comfort of his own home. But there were two loves in Lonnie's life that surpassed even his passion for OU football. The first was Lana Corbett - the love of his life. Theirs was a love that spanned many years; one that inspired others through its enduring strength and devotion. The second love was his motorcycle. Lonnie loved the feeling of riding free and would often spend hours cruising around enjoying the open road. In reflecting on Lonnie's life, we are reminded that it truly is the lives we touch that matter most. Lonnie touched so many people throughout his years, both personally and professionally. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious laugh, and his unwavering dedication to the things he loved most.

He will be deeply missed by the love of his life, Lana Corbett; grandchildren, Ava and Savannah; as well as his sister, Mary Dycus and husband, Mike, of Glenwood, AR; sister, Verna Sellers and husband, Preston, of Talala; brother, Ronnie Adkins and wife, Donna, of Claremore; twin brother, Donnie Adkins of Sand Springs; sister, Dorothy Sunday and husband, Johnny, of Collinsville; brother, Larry Adkins and fiancée, Alecia Robinson, of Afton; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Vernis and Carlos Adkins; his brother, Gary Adkins; several nieces and nephews; and his stepson, Allen Lyne.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
