Memorial services for Lolita Withers, 94, of Tulsa, were held Monday, May 30, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Wayne Pauley officiated followed by a private family interment. Honorary casket bearers were Brandon Moses, Chase Moses, and Marc Moses.
Lolita was born May 23, 1917 in Sapulpa, OK to Ira Green and Ida Mae (Smith) Burnley. She passed away May 25, 2011 in Tulsa, OK.
Lolita was a piano teacher who taught 60 students per week for many years. She helped putting on piano recitals and had piano students in them. She played piano for Valley View Christian Church. Lolita liked “add-ins” to hymns with runs and fill-ins pepping up the songs. She loved the organ and she took lessons for it. Lolita loved planting flowers. She was loved by all her students and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Withers Beverage of Fairway, KS, and Deborah Moses and husband Marc of Sperry; son, Ronald “Butch” Withers of Tulsa; granddaughter, Ashley Kelan Theo and husband Ari of New York, NY; grandsons, Chase Moses and wife Dana of Skiatook, and Brandon Moses and wife Laura Gayle of Skiatook; great-grandsons, Eli Moses and Mason Theo; great-granddaughters, Quinn Adair and Dade Adair; sister, Lucille Tooley of Turley; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton R. Withers; parents, Ira and Ida Burnley; brother, Glen Burnley; sister-in-law, Wyvonne Burnley; brother-in-law, Bill Tooley; and niece, Patsy Tooley.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
