Memorial services for Lloyd Chester Coonce, 89, of Claremore, will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Oologah Assembly of God Church in Oologah, OK and burial will be at Bixby Cemetery in Bixby, OK.

Lloyd was born September 12, 1925 in Jenks, OK to Martin Luther and Mable Pearl (Ragland) Coonce. He passed away April 7, 2015 in Claremore, OK.

Lloyd served in the US Army during World War II as a military police officer and was a police officer for the City of Tulsa, as well as Deputy Sheriff for Tulsa County and Rogers County. Lloyd was also named as Honorary Deputy Sheriff for Osage County in 1962. He was a civil defense coordinator and was the Chief of Police for the Bixby Police Department. He was a truck driver for Kraft Foods and also worked for McDonnell Douglas. Lloyd enjoyed going out on the boat and being a youth baseball coach.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Coonce; son, Christopher Coonce and wife Beth; daughter-in-law, Nancy Coonce; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Pansy Beaman; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Lloyd Gale and Martin; daughter, Kathy; brothers, Charles, Ferrell, and Hearld; sisters, Earphy Hail, and Elsie Boggs; and parents, Martin and Mable Coonce.
