Funeral services for Linda Joyce Bland (Hightower), 70, of Bristow, OK, were held Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Hope Community Church in Tulsa, OK. Pastor Ben Langley and Mr. Zach Leonard officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, Oklahoma. Casket bearers were Amanda Grace Davis, Andrew Leonard, Shawn Pitts, Matthew Floyd, Jesse Pitts and Josh Floyd. Honorary Casket bearers were C.J. Trammel, James Bland, Benjamin Krause, Zayden Pitts and Thomas Schubert.
Linda was born November 27, 1949 in Tulsa, OK, to Roy Bill Hightower and Dorothy Elizabeth (Bailey) Dean. She passed away May 26, 2020 in Tulsa, OK.
Linda loved her family and friends and enjoyed crocheting. She loved her father God and had so much faith. Linda was the rock of her family and she would do anything for anyone. She was the best daughter, mom and mema. She gave her best in everything she did for everyone. Linda would spend 45 minutes to an hour in prayer every night for those she loved and had ever met.
She is survived by her husband, James Bland of Bristow; son, Thomas Schubert and wife, Tiffany of LA; daughter, Kim Ezell and husband, Earnie of Coweta; step-daughter, Debbie Horton and husband, Lynn of Owasso; granddaughter, Amanda Davis of Drumright; grandsons, Shawn Davis and wife, Melanie of Bristow and Jesse Pitts and wife, Chante of Bristow; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Zayden, Tobias, Sylis, Emilee, and Gracelyn; sisters, Beverly Hudson of Avant and Barbara Hightower of Skiatook; brothers, Roy “Butch” Hightower and wife, Vickie of Sperry; and Darrell Hightower and wife, Suzette of Tulsa; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Castillo; mother, Dorothy Dean; father, Roy B. Hightower; brother, Robert Hightower; grandparents, Edna and Pop Wiles; and brother-in-law, Larry Hudson.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
