Funeral Services for Lesa Rae (Miller) Byrd, 51, of Sperry, were held Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Community of Christ Church in Sperry, OK. Elder Charles Rowden, Elder Phyllis Gaddy, and Priest John King officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket Bearers were Justin Doerr, Eric Graddy, Ryan Graddy, John King, Alex Cloud, and Dustin Replogle. Honorary Casket Bearers were Jerry Burd, Bill Fisher, Uel Edwards, Dwight Smith, Dave Holly, Buel Anglen, and Jeff Carter. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Lesa was born April 20, 1958 in Tulsa, OK to Jimmy Ray and Linda Alyce (Downs) Miller. She passed away June 13, 2009 in Sperry, OK.

She graduated from Sperry High School in 1976, and Rogers State University in 1978. She married Melvin Byrd on April 12, 1979. She worked for Sperry Public Schools for 19 � years.


She is survived by her husband, Melvin Byrd of Sperry; son, Eric Byrd of Broken Arrow; daughters, Heather Reed and husband Jeremy of Sperry, and Lindsey Byrd of Sperry; grandchildren, Kaydence Byrd, and Isaiah Reed; parents, Jimmy and Linda Miller of Sperry; sisters, Connie Foster of Sperry, and Dana McBride and husband James of Sand Springs; sisters-in-law, Linda Deeder and husband Don of Oologah, and Sue Ewton and husband Bob of Claremore; brother-in-law, Ronnie Byrd and wife Louise of Sapulpa; nieces, Amanda Foster and Kim Foster; nephew, B.J McBride; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Beatrice and Joie Downs, and Frank and Mallie Miller; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lela and Floyd Byrd, and brother-in-law, Johnny Byrd.
