Funeral services for Leonard Eugene “Fizz” Domres, Sr., of Sperry, were held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK Chaplain Thomas Kline and Chaplain Henry Bartlett officiated and burial was at Charley Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Brian Domres, Kevin Domres, Collin Lacy, Taylor Domres, Justin Allison, and Andrew Orcutt.
Leonard was born November 22, 1924 in Sperry, OK to William and Opal L. (Williams) Domres. He passed away March 11, 2013 in Sperry, OK at the age of 88.
Leonard worked as an industrial painter and truck driver for many years. He loved living on the creek, cutting wood and riding his lawnmower. Leonard was an avid OU fan. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Leonard talked a lot about his time in the Merchant Marines.
He is survived by his sons, Bill Domres and wife Kim of Sperry, Leonard Domres, Jr. and wife Joy of Tulsa, and Gary Domres and wife Pam of Sperry; daughters, Rebecca Gordon and husband Kenneth of Collinsville, and Sherry Prickett and husband Mark of Collinsville; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Domres of Sperry; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Domres; parents, William and Opal Domres; one sister; and one grandson.
