Graveside Services for Leo Beeler, 67, of Barnsdall, were held Wednesday, December 3, 2008. The Reverend Perry Bennett and Reverend Mable Watts officiated and burial was in the Ethel Reese Cemetery in Barnsdall, OK. Honorary casket bearers were Adam Watts, Aaron Watts, Alvin Watts, Jason Hughes, Steve Gerhard, Kevin Stricklin, and Terry Stricklin. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Leo was born August 9, 1941 in Crowder, OK to Estel Burl and Lena Mae (Hicks) Beeler. He passed away November 29, 2008 in Tulsa, OK.
He worked as a mechanic and welder as well as many other jobs. Throughout his life, Leo always made time to help others and never turned anyone down.
Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising his longhorn cattle and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of the home; 5 dachshund puppies; 15 longhorn cattle; sons, Larry Beeler and wife Glenna of Catoosa and Bryan Beeler and wife Kim of Avant; daughters, Donna Sue Hughes and husband Darnell, Jr. of Kellyville and Loretta Watts and husband Ed of Barnsdall; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ada Gerhard of Turley, Dequita Summers of Tulsa, and Lillie Davis of Tulsa; nephews that were more like brothers; Bill Stricklin of Dewey, Leon Stricklin of Stigler, and Reverend Perry Bennett of Tulsa; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Lena Beeler; grandsons, Larry Lynn Beeler, Jr., Andre Dwayne Hughes, and Matthew Wayne Beeler; great-granddaughter, Hanna Watts; sister, Lorene Stricklin, Dora Mae Barns, and Fay Hayes; brother, Odary Beeler; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cecil and Thelma Coghill.
