Funeral services for Kay (Adams) Hammons, 78, of Sperry, OK, were held Friday, February 5, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Fred Williams, Brother Phil Johnson, and Rusty Hale officiated, and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. Casket bearers were Bill Driver, Bill Adams, Stephen Sutton, Taylor Hale, Rusty Hale, and Greg Smith. Honorary Casket bearers were Robert Adams, Scott Adams, Roger Adams, Bud Adams and Grant Adams.
Kay was born July 21, 1942 in Tulsa, OK, to William Harold and Alice Elizabeth (Grant) Adams. She passed away January 31, 2021 in Sperry, OK.
Kay was a longtime member of Dalton Hill Baptist Church in Owasso and was a bookkeeper for more than 50 years, with 20 years at Dale and Lee’s Service Company in Owasso. Kay married her husband, Tommy on March 6, 1964. She enjoyed bowling, keeping score for her children’s sporting events, watching her soap operas, and attending gospel singings with her church friends. But her most favorite thing of all was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kay was passionate in supporting missions work around the world and actively supported Young Life and Sarah’s Kids, providing educational and other needs for street children in Malawi, Africa.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Hammons of Sperry; daughter, Becky Hale and husband, Rusty of Oologah; son, Thomas Hammons of Sperry; grandson, Taylor Hale and wife, Leeanna of Tahlequah; granddaughter, Samantha Hale; great-granddaughters, Gracelyn Hale, and Aaliyah Hale; brothers, Robert Adams and wife, Kay of Broken Arrow, Roger Adams and wife, Jan of Tulsa and Bud Adams of Sapulpa; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Hammons; grandchildren, Christian Hammons and Devon Hammons; niece, Sarah Adams; and parents, Bill and Alice Adams.
