Funeral services for Kathleen Lee “Katie” (Wallace) Park, of Sperry, were held Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Skiatook Christian Church in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Charles Rowden officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Richard Akin, Duncan Akin, Kirby Hagemeister, Mike Juby, Kit Clark, and Jagger Park. Honorary casket bearers were Mike Rives, Ray Lierly, David Casey, Bill Fisher, Gary Stevens, and George Smith.
Katie was born October 5, 1924 in Okmulgee, OK to Guy R. and Edra (Taylor) Wallace. She passed from this world to join her Lord and Savior on April 7, 2013 in Sperry, OK at the age of 88.
Katie, also known as “Nanny” was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended Cherokee Elementary School in Turley, Central High School in Tulsa, and Sperry High School, where she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Park. Katie was a homemaker and was very active in her church as a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Sperry and Skiatook Christian Church. She was the homeroom mother for all of her children and served as a PTA President.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Bob Park of the home; children, Lana Clark and husband, Dick, Karol Akin, and Robert Park and wife Tonya; grandchildren, Lisa Hagemeister and husband Kirby, Tracey Juby and husband Mike, Richard Akin and wife Tracey, Duncan Akin, Jagger Park, Cooper Park, Kit Clark and wife Liz Ann, and Racheal Akin Quinn; great-grandchildren, Madison, Levi, Louden, Lakelee, Acey, and Jacob; uncle, Walter Taylor and wife Virginia; several cousins; and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Edra Wallace; and son-in-law, David Akin.
Family Visitation was Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Skiatook Christian Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
