Funeral services for Karen Sue (Johnson) Dick, 74, of Owasso, OK, were held Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at First Pentecostal Church in Collinsville, OK. Reverend Don Martin and Pastor Kyle Holt officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Jason Dick, Peyton Dick, Jackson McKinney, Leyton McKinney, Joe Mills, and Tim Pece. Honorary Casket bearers were Mickey Murdock, Max Murdock, Charlie Murdock and Brody Murdock.
Karen was born July 20, 1950, in Tahlequah, OK, to Ona Marsh Johnson and Louella Amanda (Turner) Johnson. She passed away November 22, 2024, in Owasso, OK.
Karen, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, found joy in a variety of roles throughout her life, from running an in-home daycare to working as a medical billing and coding secretary. She had a passion for creative pastimes such as reading, sewing, crocheting, and playing bingo. Karen enjoyed her time watching classic shows like “Little House on the Prairie” and “The Waltons”. A dedicated community member, Karen, along with her mother, Louella, was a founding member of the Owasso Jewels – the Owasso Branch of the Oklahoma Home and Community Education (OHCE) organization. She also served as President of the Owasso Golden Agers and was an active member of the Owasso Community Center. Karen’s warmth, leadership, and dedication to her community made a lasting impact.
She is survived by her daughter, Shauna Murdock and husband, Mickey of Owasso; son, Jason Dick and wife, Cortney of Owasso; grandchildren, Jackson McKinney, Leyton McKinney, Peyton Dick, Cambree, Dick, Max Murdock, Charlie Murdock, and Brody Murdock; mother, Louella Johnson; sister, Janet Fox; nieces and nephews, Joe Mills, Ricky Mills, Melissa Oates, and Tim Pece; sister-in-law, Linda Pece and husband, Marvin; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ona Johnson; husband, Terry Dick; brother, Gary Johnson; niece, Stephanie Pece; sister-in-law, Cynthia Nissen and husband, Richard; parents-in-law, John and Molly Dick.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
