June Still

Funeral services for June Still, 81, of Sperry, were held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Andy Anquoe officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Dustin James, Chris Bryant, Wes Carr, Cole Carr, Johnny James and Trustin Still. Honorary casket bearers were Buddy Beaty and David Beaty.

June was born October 4, 1934 in Tulsa, OK to Vernon and Leona (Wilson) Beaty. She passed away April 17, 2016 in Sperry, OK.

June married Buck Still on October 6, 1952. They had three children and six grandchildren. When their first grandchild, Angie was born, their names were changed to “Mamma June” and “Daddy Buck”. After June raised her children, she became a docent at the Tulsa Zoo in 1997. She loved animals and was a Sooners fan. June also taught Sunday School for several years at First Baptist Church. She loved her family and God.

She is survived by her children, Terrie James and husband Johnny, Larry Still and Tanya Carr; grandchildren, Angie Bryant and husband Chris, Dustin James, Corey Still and wife Katherine, and Travis Carr and wife Amanda; great-grandchildren, Lynsie Wheeler, Trustin Still, Shyla Still, Cannon Still, Cash Carr, Kasen Carr, Tessa Carr, Dawson James and Jagger James; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Daddy Buck” Still; parents, Vernon and Leona Beaty; sister, Mary Hargrove; and great-nephew, Dex Brown.
