Juanita Ann McElroy

Funeral services for Jaunita Ann (Chadwick) McElroy, 79, of Sperry, were held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Buddy Prichard and Phillip Johnson officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Phillip McElroy, Brian McElroy, Steven McElroy, Mark McElroy, Teddy McElroy and Brent Barnes.

Juanita was born April 27, 1938 in Sulphur, OK to Ernest Jefferson and Leora Marcella (Young) Chadwick. She passed away April 10, 2018 in Wagoner, OK.

Juanita married Horace Joe McElroy on July 7, 1954 and they spent almost 68 years together. She loved going to different places. Juanita and Joe really enjoyed Bluegrass music. In her younger days, she loved to go bowling, camping and fishing. Juanita was a member of First Baptist Church in Sperry until she wasn’t; able to attend. She worked at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds and the Tulsa Convention Center as well.

She is survived by his husband, Horace Joe McElroy of Sperry; cousins, Robert Moody of Broken Arrow, Mickey White of Broken Arrow, Sharon Wilkerson of Tulsa, Jennie Pritchard of Tulsa, Gary White of Tulsa, Don Young of Broken Arrow, Bob Young of Broken Arrow, Judy Haddack of Oklahoma City, JoAnn Dewitt of Sapulpa, John Tilley of Inola and Sudie Childers of Tulsa; niece, Jena Coyle; nephew, Danny Pat Coyle; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Leora Chadwick, and nephew, Ernie Coyle.
