Joy Maxine McFarland

Funeral services for Joy Maxine (Naugle) McFarland, 86, of Skiatook, OK, were held Friday, February 25, 2022, at Skiatook Church of Christ in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Russell Hill officiated, and burial was in Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket bearers were Aaron Runk, Leon Wall, Cody McFarland, J.D. Kerr, and Dustin Bryant.

Maxine was born June 27, 1935, in Brixey, MO, to Henry Everett and Lottie Arizona (Smith) Naugle. She passed away February 22, 2022, in Owasso, OK.

Maxine enjoyed camping and fishing; she even used to go fishing by herself during the day and had a boat named, Joy Girl. She also liked gardening and loved to read. In her younger days, Maxine went to friends’ houses to play Wahoo, even bringing her own dice. Maxine played the guitar and would play and sing with her family and have music parties.

She is survived by her children, Dana Wall and husband, Keith, and Danny McFarland and wife, Suzanna; grandchildren, Dustin Bryant and wife, Casie, Heather Runk and husband, Aaron, Cara McFarland, and Cody McFarland and wife, Brook; great-grandchildren, Kade Aaron Runk, Jett Liam Runk, Rowan Kenneth Runk, Brynna Breeze Bryant, Avery Addison Bryant, Wesley Dean McFarland, and Charlotte Grace McFarland; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl McFarland; parents, Everett and Lottie Naugle; brother, Troy; and sisters, Teresa, Erma and Opal.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
