Funeral services for Johnny Milo Gruenwald, 59, of Sperry, were Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 in the Community Lighthouse Church at Skiatook.


The Rev. Bill Taylor and the Rev. Jack Vent officiated, and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Sperry, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry.


Honorary pallbearers were Barrett Gruenwald, Bill Gruenwald, Dale Gruenwald, Taylor Gruenwald, Louie Brummett and Frank Brummett.


Vocalists were Brent Reamy, Sharon Harper and Karen Roberts.


He was born on May 23, 1948 in Salinas, Calif., to Bill and Virginia (Ferea) Gruenwald. He passed away on Jan. 23, 2008.


He was raised in California, where he met and married Johna, the mother of his four children.


He owned and operated his concrete construction company, raised and raced thoroughbred horses, and loved fishing and hunting.


He is survived by his daughters, Jenny King, Loralee Wagnon and Desiree Gruenwald, all of Skiatook; son, Clint Gruenwald and wife, Stephanie of Skiatook; sisters, Clio Villarreal of Stockton, Mo., Billie Brummett of Sperry, Jonell Chiodo of Tulsa, Ginger Reed of Aptos, Calif., and Germanie Rountree of Stockton, Mo.; grandchildren, Kristin Hilton, Amanda King, Jake Wagnon, Coty Wagnon (serving in the U.S. Army and currently deployed in Baghdad), Seth Gruenwald, Ezekial Sayre, Aaron Sayre, Jeremy Atwell, Amber Gruenwald, Colton Gruenwald, Johnny Gruenwald, Peyton Gruenwald and Laney Gruenwald; great-grandsons, David Hilton II and Deagon Jack Hilton; the mother of his children, Johna; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Gruenwald; mother, Virginia (Ferea) Gruenwald; brothers, William Gruenwald, Virgil Gruenwald, Dick Gruenwald, Herb Gruenwald and George Gruenwald; sister, Jeannie Gruenwald; nephews, Mark Villareal, Herb Gruenwald, II., Jerrod Stoner and Travis Brummett; and nieces, Sonja Villareal and Gina Gruenwald.
