A Mass of Christian Burial for Johnny Edward Gomez, 95, of Tulsa, OK, was held Friday, May 3, 2024, at Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa, OK. Reverend Monsignor Gregory Gier officiated, and burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. Casket bearers were Steve Abbott, Jeff Gomez, Dennis Cook, Christopher Hall, Michael Heavner, and Havus Chadwick. Honorary Casket bearers were Austin Gomez, Vincet Witt, II, and Ralph Heavner, Jr.

Johnny was born April 24, 1929, in Tulsa, OK, to Juan Gomez and Edelia (Flores) Gomez. He passed away April 29, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.

Johnny had an incredible work ethic and instilled that quality in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He loved his children so much. Johnny gave so much to everyone without expecting anything in return. He was a very talented artist who had a wonderful imagination and was very gifted with his hands. He enjoyed woodcarving, oil painting, and was also able to play just about any musical instrument out there.

He is survived by his children, Johnny E. Gomez, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Donald L. Gomez, Tama M. Chadwick and husband, Monte, Stanley H. Gomez and wife, Barbie, and Kimberly A. Timmons and husband, Bryan; grandchildren, Angela Gomez, Faith Kelly, Jeffery Gomez, Shane Gomez, Jessica Chastain, Andrea Beck, Levi Gomez, Abbie Gomez, Havus Chadwick III, Mitchell Chadwick, Steve Chadwick, Brian Chadwick, Candi McClellan; Megan Minihan, Austin Gomez, Alex Gomez, Whitney Cornish, Christopher Hall, Tiffany Pulliam, Garret Timmons, and Stefanie Dömel; 53 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; lifelong companion, Rosemary Kelly; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Gomez; grandchildren, Patricia Gomez and Payzley Chadwick; and son-in-law, Havus Chadwick.
