John Clay Ward

Memorial services for John Clay Ward, 57, of Tulsa, OK, were held Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK, with Pastor Bill Taylor officiating. Honorary Casket bearers were Donnie Turley, Jordan Turley, and Jeffrey David.

John was born September 23, 1964, in Los Angeles, CA, to John Clarence Ward and Carol Ann (Turley) Salazar. He passed away December 3, 2021, in Tulsa, OK.

John worked as a truck driver for several different companies throughout the years. In 1988, he married his wife, Faith, whom he loved very much. He enjoyed spending time with his brother, Michael, and John could always be found over at his house. He loved to work on cars and always had a mechanic’s soul. Lately, he really enjoyed his time by watching television. More than anything else, he absolutely loved spending time with his loving family.

He is survived by his wife, Faith Ward; daughter, Christina Ward; his best buddy, his dog named Rocky Bowboa; mother, Carol Salazar and Charles Hicks; brother, Michael Smith, sisters, Michelle Rucker, Patricia Paxton, and Terry Lynn Rucker; aunt, Cindy Lou Davis; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Walker Donald Meyers; father, John C. Ward; step-father, Donald W. Milligan; grandma, Joan Nash; and uncle, Lester “Buck” Turley.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
