John Grady Middleton

Graveside services for John Grady Middleton, 61, of Seminole, OK, were held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Osage Gardens Cemetery Veteran’s Pavilion in Skiatook, OK. Joe Raines officiated. Casket bearers were James Burch, Kip Huddleston, Justin Burch, Danny Lawrence, Jesse Hurd, and Ethan Hunt. Honorary Casket bearers were Tim Mathews, Clarence Benard, Jr., Big Branham, and Dave Fleming.

John was born March 16, 1962, in Tulsa, OK, to Tommy Gene Middelton and Edith Ann (Anglen) Middleton-Cleary. He passed away November 15, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK.

John moved to Seminole in 2001 and went to work for Landmark Energy. He worked there for 20 years, ranching, running equipment and the oil field. He influenced several generations of children by being a hero and father figure. The rodeo scene was a huge part of John’s life. When he wasn’t working or attending rodeos, John could be found elsewhere outdoors. He loved anything to do with a boat, including fishing and throwing the kids of the tube. 

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Raina Middleton; children, Tanya Hunt, and Jonna Hilton; grandchildren, Shyanne Hunt, Ethan Hunt, Kaylee Hunt, Hailee Hunt, Laicyn Hunt, Amatha Fack, Chris Hollan, Jo Jo Hollan, Rebecca Firmin, Keira Burch, Kyndall Burch, Zoe Burch and Rodie Gower; great-grandchildren, Axel Kean and Harper Hunt; brother, James Middleton and wife, Debbie; nieces, Shayla Griggs, Jamie Burch, Rachelle Burch, Michelle Garcia, and Kim Shiflett; nephews, Justin Burch, James Burch, Jesse Hurd; aunt, Willie Dickerson; cousins, Jane Wilson, Jana Taylor, and Jerry Middleton; sister-in-law, Regina Huddleston and husband, Kip; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mandi Middleton; parents, Tommy Middleton and Edith Middleton-Cleary; and father and mother-in-law, Dave and Juanita Branham.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
