Joe Blevins

Funeral services for Joe Blevins, 67, of Sperry, were held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry, OK. Reverend Jerry Harper, Jr. officiated and burial was in South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, OK. Casket bearers were Lee Vogt, Hal Vogt, Jason Nye, Cody Nye, Darrell Elrod, and A.J. McEntire.

Joe was born May 9, 1948 in Fort Gibson, OK to Lawrence and Nossie Wyleene (Ragsdale) Blevins. He passed away December 19, 2015 in Sperry, OK.

Joe was a machinist for Flo Bend for 28 years, and was a custodian for Sperry Public Schools. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and loved watching his grandchildren play football and basketball.

He is survived by his sisters, Phyllis Blevins-Weathers and husband Leroy of Sperry, Shirley Blevins-Vogt of Sperry, and Karen Blevins of Tulsa; nieces, Benna Weathers-Nye and husband Jason of Sperry, and Stacy Weathers-Elrod and husband Darrell of Sperry; nephews, Hal Vogt of Sperry, and Lee Vogt of Sperry; 13 great-nieces and nephews; aunts, Rosalie Blevins of Turley, and Vergie Freeman and husband Arty; uncle, Clyde Brown of Turley; numerous cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Wyleene Blevins; grandparents, Harvey and Mollie Blevins, and Willie and Dollie Ragsdale; brother-in-law, Harold Vogt; and great-nephew, Noah Vogt.
