Funeral services for Jo Ann (Francis) Amos, 81, of Tulsa, OK, were held Monday, May 2, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Phil Johnson officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Jack Francis, Lindel Fields, Gov’nor Francis, Sammie Francis, Jacob Francis, Jay Robinson, Michael Robinson, and Tyler Francis.
Jo Ann was born July 24, 1940, in Tulsa, OK, to Lindel and Ethel Marie (Widener) Francis. She passed away at home on April 27, 2022, in Tulsa, OK.
She married the love of her life Robert Larry Amos, Sr. on January 23, 1959. Jo Ann was a homemaker and the matriarch of the Amos and Francis families. Her home was always open to anyone that wanted to drop by; there was nothing she loved more than having a house full of family and friends. She was an expert at spoiling children!
After Larry retired, they bought a motorcycle and traveled many miles. They were known as the cool grandparents when attending activities for the grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by her son, Robert Larry “Bob” Amos, Jr., and wife, Tammy, of Tulsa; daughters, Tonja R. Amos, of Grapevine, TX, and Kelli White and husband, Rick, of Ramona; grandchildren, April Newell, and husband, Seth, of Owasso, Sunny Vaughn, and husband, Troy, of Skiatook, Casey Elam and husband, Corey, of Ramona, Katie Ellis, and husband, Williem, of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Stone Newell, Chayten Elam, Channing Elam, Pippy Newell and Sydelle Vaughn; sister-in-law, Barbara June Francis of Ochelata; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Larry Amos, Sr.; parents, Lindel and Ethel Francis; and siblings, Jack Francis, Donald Francis, James “Jimmy” Francis, Sharon (Francis) Fields Robison, and an infant sister; and great-granddaughter, Marigold Ellis.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
