Jimmie Dale Whitaker

Funeral services for Jimmie Dale Whitaker, 57, of Sperry, were held Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Sperry Christian Church in Sperry, OK. Pastor Adam Stang officiated.

Jimmie was born August 5, 1958 in Springdale, AR to Robert Odell and Betty Bernice (Sutton) Whitaker. He passed away January 27, 2016 in Sperry, OK.

Jimmie was a United States Postal Service contract employee and also worked for Wonder Bread/Hostess as a Route Salesman for 23 years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, listening to AM radio and coaching softball. Jimmie also loved to grill and cook, the spicier the better. He was a member of the Teamsters for 23 years and was a retired Baptist preacher.

He is survived by his children, Lindsay Whitaker, 25, of Sperry and Ashley Brinkley, 30, and husband Benjamin of Skiatook; fiancé, Nanette Covey and daughter, Sirena; grandchildren, Landen, 9, Ethan, 7, Jalynn,3, Macee, 1; siblings, Rick Whitaker and wife Mary of Van Buren AR, Edwin Whitaker and wife Lisa of Broken Arrow, Sarah Ponce and husband Randy of Springdale, AR; aunts, Cola Tehee of Colcord and Donna Salts of Skiatook; uncle Johnny Whitaker of Sand Springs; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicky Whitaker, parents, Betty and Robert Whitaker.
