Jim Jackson Edwards

Funeral services for Jim Jackson Edwards, 82, of Sperry, were held Friday, January 6, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Mr. Phillip Johnson and Mr. Steve Edwards officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Kyle Edwards, John Edwards, Keith Wessel, Jimmy Wessel, Phil Perkins, and Royal Ghazal. Honorary casket bearer was Sam McDougel.

Jim was born December 24, 1934 in Kingfisher, OK to Charles Ervin and Johnnie (Long) Edwards. He passed away December 29, 2016 in Tulsa, OK.

Jim worked for General Motors, then Ford Motor Company in Flint, Michigan. He was the owner of Jim’s Phillip 66 and Bait Shop in Sperry. Jim loved to travel, go to the casino, playing golf, and watching sports on TV, especially TU football. Jim even attended several TU games. He also enjoyed trips to California with his brother Leon, friend, Sam, and his nephew, Bill.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Edwards of Sperry; son, Kyle Edwards of Tulsa; daughter, Barbara Wessel and husband Keith of Skiatook; grandchildren, Jimmy and wife Robin of Skiatook; Jamie of Sperry, Michael of Broken Arrow, and Rachel of Tulsa; great-granddaughters, Ember and Avree; brothers, Jeff, George, Lucky, Leon and Harry; sisters, Annie, Dinger, and Charlene; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Johnnie Edwards; brothers, Toby, J.R., Jack and Don; daughter-in-law, Debbie; and granddaughter, Chrissy.
