Jerry Wayne Springer was born October 20, 1946 in Sacramento, CA to Lester Springer and Nelda Coleen McKnight. He passed away May 13, 2013 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 66.

Jerry owned several businesses in the Tulsa area, including Lester’s Gear & Automatic Parts, Tulsa Brake & Clutch, and Axles Transmissions & Transfers. He also loved flying airplanes, racing motorcycles and driving his antique car collection. Jerry would usually start his weekends drinking coffee at the Pilot’s Lounge with his Airman Acres buddies. He was best known for telling jokes. Jerry often referred to himself as “Jerry Springer: The poor, good-looking one, not the rich, ugly talk show host!”

He is survived by his wife, Juanita W. Springer of Collinsville; daughters, Leslie Ann Davis and husband Marc of Collinsville, Jeri Dawn Barrientos and husband Tomas of Tulsa, Maggie Lee Stacy and husband James of Collinsville; stepson, Scott Anthony of Piedmont, AL; grandchildren, Arin Burns and husband John of Mustang, Ashley Ward and husband Aaron of Broken Arrow, and Henry Barrientos of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Tyler Welch of Mustang, and Tanden Ward of Broken Arrow; father, Lester Springer of Collinsville; siblings, Nelda Coulson of Sperry, Mike McKnight of Foyil, Billy Young of Tulsa, Donna Morrison of Tulsa, and Darla Skirvin of CA; family pets, Audrey and Bubba; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nelda McKnight, stepfather, Lloyd McKnight; stepmother, Eunice Springer; and nephew, Presley Coulson.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Springer Residence in Collinsville.
