Funeral Services for Jean “Jeanie” (Green) Crain, 77, of Sperry, were held Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Andy Anquoe officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket Bearers were Bill Philpot, Al Miller, Bill Park, Larry Eddings, Victor Bernhardt, and Gene Austin. Honorary Casket Bearers were Burny Hoskins, Shirley Williamson, Bonnie Ecker, Nan Mullins, Sharon Philpot, Barbara Sue Tiblow, Judy Brown, Karen Franklin, and Melissa Williamson. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Jeanie was born May 19, 1936 in Crawford, AR to Otis Green and Edna Blanche (Shaw) Mayfield. She passed away October 26, 2013 in Sperry, OK.

After her father left the home, Jeanie was blessed to have Carly Mayfield as her stepfather who loved and raised her as his own. Jeanie grew up in a loving home with Edna and Carly, along with her older brother Bill and sisters, Clorene and Boots. Jeanie attended Sperry Public Schools, and it was there that she met the love of her life, Kenneth Crain. They were married in 1955 and had two children, Tami and Kelli. To their joy, they had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who Jeanie loved to spoil. Jeanie and the family lost Kenny in 2001. Jeanie kept herself busy with family and friends, eventually developing a relationship with a lifetime friend, Frank Kendall. Jeanie and Frank always considered both families as their own. She was a housewife for 46 years. Jeanie was a homeroom mother and PTA board member from 1966-1969, as well as a member of the Grub Grannies Clothes Closet.

She is survived by her daughters, Tami Remington of Sperry and Kelli Williams; grandchildren, Cody Williams and wife Dawn, Sammy Remington, Shane Remington. Colton Gruenwald, John Gruenwald, and Peyton Gruenwald; great-grandchildren, Ryker James and Presley Lynn Williams; sister, Oleta “Boots” Fitzpatrick and husband Bob; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenny Crain; parents, James “Carly” and Edna Mayfield; sister, Clorene Behler and husband Carl; and brother, Bill Green and wife Pauline.
