Graveside services for James Emmitt Ready, of Skiatook, were held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Charles Rowden officiated. Casket bearers were Butch Barber, Phil Pattillo, Tom Pattillo, Gary Cox, Bob Crawford, and Barry Carr. Honorary casket bearers were Glen Davenport, John Jolley, Glen Nelson, J.L. Holt, and Scott Ready.
James was born March 11, 1929 in Tulsa, OK to Frank Randolph and Marguerite Josaphene (Zylks) Ready. He passed away September 22, 2011 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 82.
James retired from Bow Pipeline. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with his family and friends. He was a proud PaPa of all 3 of his granddaughters. James never met a stranger. He also had a passion for finding bargains to add to his collections of “stuff.”
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Cloda Ready; son, Gary Ready and wife Carla; grandchildren, Anissa, Jamie and Jenifer; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Ready; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ready; mother, Marguerite Ready; and brothers, Jack Ready, Ray Ready, and Frank Ready.
