James Edward Marrs, 91, of Sperry, OK, was born February 20, 1931, in Skiatook, OK, to John Little John and Audrey Mae (Fisher) Marrs. He passed away June 14, 2022, in Tulsa, OK.

James grew up following various Oklahoma drilling sites, moving from place-to-place drilling for oil and eventually settled in Sperry. James worked for American Airlines for 41 years as a DC10 Overhaul Crew Chief. He retired early so that he could take care of his ailing wife before her passing in 1999. After retiring from American Airlines, James started remodeling houses and went on to retire again at the age of 85. James was also a pastor for several local churches. He loved to go fishing, working on cars, and working on large gardens that he would share with the family.

He is survived by his sons, Joe Marrs and Jim Marrs; daughter, Louisa Bilyeau; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Irene Marrs, and Laverne Marrs; children, Steve Marrs, Sharon Marrs, Gordon Key, and Tom Key; father, John Marrs; mother, Audrey Marrs; brother, Johnny Marrs; and sisters, Martha (Marrs) Rowden, and Mary Lou (Marrs) Weymire.

Family arranged memorial services were held Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Community of Christ Church. Elder Charles Rowden officiated.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
