Memorial services for James Robert “Bob” Jordan, of Sperry, were held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Community of Christ Church in Sperry, OK. Elder Charles Rowden officiated.

Bob was born May 16, 1934 in Staunton, VA to Robert Stephenson and Elizabeth Mae (Bosserman) Jordan. He was known as “Bob” or “Bobby” to the loved ones and friends he left behind on November 23, 2012 after a short but courageous fight against Cancer that took him from his family far too soon.

Bob started his career in the airline industry with Eastern Airlines and joined American Airlines in the early 1960s. His distinguished career at American Airlines took him to the position of Executive Vice President of Data Services which he held until his retirement. The kindness of his heart, his loving spirit, and his marvelous sense of humor will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Vicki, of the home; children, Robert Jordan and wife Bonnie of Sleepy Hollow, IL, Debbie Iverson and husband David of Wagoner, and Michael Jordan of Anderson, SC; Bob also opened his heart and took in a little boy named Jathan as his son, and Jathan knew him as “Daddy”; step-daughters, Leann Tindell of Austin, TX and Jody Womack of Seminole. Bob was known as “Granddaddy” to Billy, Michelle, Matthew, Grace, Elaine and Shawn. He was known as “Do-Dad” to Tristan, Gavin and Jewell; sisters, Dotty Williams and husband Sonny of Port St. Lucie, FL and Barbara Walton and husband G.H. of Boiling Springs, NC. Bob was blessed with many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their children. Bob was also loved by a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Stephenson Jordan and step-mother Dot; his mother Elizabeth Bosserman-Jordan and by his first wife Joyce Jordan.
