James Sanford Beard

Funeral services for James Sanford Beard, 63, of Sapulpa, were Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008 at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry.
The Rev. Adam Stand officiated, and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Sperry, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry.
Pallbearers were Michael Garrison, Dwight Claxton, Frank Moore Jr., William Williamson, Paul Williamson and Ryan Blythe
Honorary pallbearers were John Watkins and Stephanie Warfield.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1944 in Quinton to Robert Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Wisdom) Beard. He died on Feb. 11, 2008.
He worked as a welder. He loved traveling and telling tall tales.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Claxton, Teresa Garrison, Valerie Watkins, Barbara White and Elaine Beard; sons, Floyd Purcell, Frank Moore Jr., and James Beard Jr.; grandchildren, William, Paul, Chrissy, Lori, Jesse, Jarrod, Melissa, Jonathan, Kimberly, Stephanie, Tanya, Shelley, Erica, Elena and Carmen; great-grandchildren, David, Alexander, Isaiah, Lexi,Ethan, Jace, Caeli and Peyton; sisters, Dolly and Hazel; ex-wife and close friend, Barbara Moore; and ex-wife, Mary Fry.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Beard Jr., and Bill Beard; sisters, Marcella and Betty; and parents, Robert and Dorothy Beard.
