Funeral Services for Jack Charles McClain, 80, of Sperry, were held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Andy Anquoe officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket Bearers were Roy McClain, Carl McClain, Charlie McClain, Brandon Vick, Jeff Vick, and Ken Vick. Honorary Casket Bearers were Leon Giles, Lloyd Giles, and Gerald Schwartz. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Jack was born February 18, 1934 in Coolidge, TX to Carl Benjamin and Lula Vivian (Vines) McClain. He passed away September 5, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.
Jack was a veteran of the armed forces; serving 3 years in the Army and 8 ½ years in the Air Force. He worked for TWA for 29 ½ years and retired as an aircraft maintenance inspector. Jack loved traveling, camping, car repair and carpentry work, working on crossword puzzles, and playing scrabble, especially with Fussbudget.
He is survived by his wife, Betty McClain of Sperry; children, Cathy (McClain) Vick of Skiatook, Carl McClain of Sperry, and Roy McClain of Sperry; grandchildren, Jeffery Vick, Rebecca Vick, Brandon Vick, and Vincent Charles “Charlie” McClain; brothers, Lowery Leon McClain of Crossville, TN, and C.B. McClain of Albuquerque, NM; son-in-law, Ken Vick; daughter-in-law, Donna McClain; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Carl DeWayne, mother, Lula Vivian McClain; father, Carl Benjamin McClain; sister, Leona Nicholson, and brother, Bobby Joe McClain.
