Funeral services for Ida Mae (White) Day, 85, of Skiatook, were held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Lynda Ward officiated and burial was in Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. Casket bearers were Chase Day, Brandon Houston, Chase Day Jr., Mike Brown, Eric Staggs, Chris Brown and Blake Bales.
Ida Mae was born May 7, 1931 in Meadows, MD to Francis Pierce and Mary Margaret (Norton) White. She passed away June 12, 2016 in Tulsa, OK.
Ida Mae loved to have parties and dinner with her family and friends, and church family. She and Chuck loved to travel in the RV for many years following her blue grass friends at festivals all over the country. Ida Mae loved to play the family card game “Tic” and even taught many people nationwide.
She is survived by her son, Craig Day; grandchildren, Chase Day, Eric Staggs, Paige Staggs, Dustin Day, Amanda Hjortshoej, Brandi Phillips, Brandon Houston and Brittney Williams; great-grandchildren, Ryann Day, Chase Day Jr., Austin Hjortshoej, Madison Brown, Jaxon Staggs, Blake Staggs, Chris Brown, Crista Brown, Blake Bales, Rylee Houston, Greenley Houston, Lillian Houston, Hudson Phillips, Tinker Bell, Logan Day, Brooklyn Day and Zekee Hjortshoej; sister, Helen Bertrand; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Day; daughter, Ranada Staggs and husband Curtis; great-grandchildren, Aden Brown and Pierce Phillips; parents, Francis and Mary White; sister, Dorothy “Dotti” Amendola; and brother, Francis White.
