Helen Louise Fielding

Funeral Services for Helen Louise (Johnson) Fielding, 95, of Tulsa, were held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Little Chapel Of The Roses at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City, OK. The Reverend Kenny Adams officiated and burial was in the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City, OK. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Helen was born June 14, 1918 in Kansas City, MO to Reverend Fred L. and Dana (Travelstead) Johnson. She passed away April 9, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.

Helen worked as a beautician in Shawnee. She also worked for several years in a bakery, waking up at 2 A.M. to walk to work and would walk home at noon. Helen worked for Sears as a seamstress for 14 years making draperies until they shut down the department. She loved working in her flower beds, and tending to her roses and some yard work. Helen would also spend long hours working on stitching and embroidery work.

She is survived by her children, Roger Fielding and wife Darlene of Oklahoma City, Dean Fielding and wife Patricia of Tulsa, and Lela Welch and husband Leroy of Ponca City; brother, Paul Johnson and wife Carol of San Jose, CA; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Fielding; parents, Rev. Fred and Dana Johnson; sister, Ivarea Hisey; and brothers, Kenneth Johnson and Lee R. “Bob” Johnson
