Funeral services for Harold Dean Vogt, of Sperry, OK were held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry, OK. Reverend Jerry Harper, Reverend Doyle Ginn, and Reverend Rick Harvey officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Doug Vogt, Daniel Vogt, Tyler Vogt, Shawn Collins, Kenneth Lane, and Burch Lane. Honorary casket bearers were Ruben Ladner, Cleo Horton, Ron Rhyne, Martin Durr, Taylor Mallonee, and Gary Rhyne.
Harold was born December 5, 1940 in Yale, OK to Ernest August and Rosie Lida (Courtade) Vogt. He passed away November 8, 2012 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 71.
Harold was a cattleman and a welder. He was also a beloved member of the Sperry Roundtable. When Harold was 2 his family moved to a farm close to Glencoe, OK. There on the farm where was where he first loved farming and discovered his loved of cattle and animals, which lasted a lifetime. He graduated from Glencoe High School 1959. Not long after graduation, Harold enlisted in the Army and served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Vogt; sons, Lee Vogt and wife Georgianne, and Hal Vogt; grandchildren, Ashlee Vogt, Rylee Vogt, Alicia Vogt and Dalton Hansen; sisters, Velma Winterhalter of Stillwater, and Lorene Vitek of Reedsport, OR; brother, Andrew Vogt and wife Roberta of Miamisburg, OH; sisters-in-law, Nita Vogt and Glenda Vogt; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Rosie Vogt; brothers, Roy Vogt; sister, Louise Vogt; and grandson Noah Vogt.
