Hager Roy McClain

Funeral services for Hager Roy “Scooter” McClain, 72, of Tulsa, OK, were held Friday, January 12, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Elder Danny Perkins officiated, and burial was in Hillside Mission Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket bearers were Keith Perkins, Jerry Perkins, Cleon McClain, and Greg Schubert.

Hager was born November 4, 1951, in Brownfield, TX, to Hagar Climmard “Mac” McClain and Roberta Geraldine (Peace) McClain. He passed away January 9, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.

Hager was a high school teacher for over 40 years, teaching Biology, Anatomy/Physiology, Botany, Chemistry, General Science, Physical Science, and Zoology. He was also a track and cross-country coach for Catoosa High School for more than 30 years. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ Restored and served as an Elder. Hager loved to travel. He especially loved trout fishing and was even a member of the “trout unlimited" organization.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhiannon Schubert; brother, Cleon McClain; cousins, Keith Perkins, Missy McClain, John McClain, and Danny McClain; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hager “Mac” and Roberta McClain; uncle, Sam McClain; and cousin, Frank McClain.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
