Funeral services for George Phillip Brown Jr., 63 of Sperry, were held on June 13, 2008 in the Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry.
The Rev. Doyle Ginn officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Sperry.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home in Sperry.

He was born on May 14, 1945 in Ysleta, Texas to George and Francis (Tibbits) Brown. He died on June 9, 2008.
He was a private detective, security guard, and coal miner. He served in the U.S. Navy - Seaman Third Class radioman and ship photographer. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He also had the privilege of escorting Miss America around in 1969.He loved gardening, camping, fishing, woodworking, electronics and singing as an Elvis impersonator. He loved spending time with his family and was a devoted father. Survived by his wife, Diana Brown of the home; daughter, Kimberly Sutherland and husband Gary of Sperry; son, George Phillip Brown III and wife Jennifer of Sperry; grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, SeLeanna, Skyler, Travor, Ethan, Presley, Gabriel and Veronica; sister, Berta Brown of El Paso, Texas; brothers, Larry Brown of Pico Riveria, Calif; Roger Brown and wife Renee of Wagoner; Teddy Brown of Calif, nephew, Tommy Pilgrim and wife Kim of Claremore; niece: Carly Jaggers of Tulsa; and great-nephews, Tanner Pilgrim, Dawson James and Jagger James.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Phillip Brown Sr.; mother, Francis Louise Kronholm step-father, Robert Kronholm; sister, Patricia Jaggers; and niece, Erika Davis.
