Gary Thomas Hudson, 60, of Skiatook, went to be with the Lord on July 10th. He was born February 11, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Grover and Mary Ellen (Jones) Hudson. He grew up in the Sperry-Skiatook area. He married Linda Lee Payne on August 13, 1971. They made their home in Sperry, Oklahoma. To this union were born three children; Vince, Doug and Carol. He married Joyce Elaine Marshall Soules on June 28, 2008. They made their home in Skiatook, Oklahoma.
Gary served his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army during which time he received various honors, one of which is the distinguished Purple Heart. After his tour of duty, he went on to serve 10 years for the State of Oklahoma as Captain at the Dick Connor Correctional Facility, where he also served on the K-9 Unit. He was a rancher and in his younger years was a horse trainer.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; two sons, Vince and wife Julie of Owasso, and Doug and wife Amber of Skiatook; one daughter, Carol Preslar of Sperry; one step-son, Steve Soules and wife Julia of Sperry; one step-daughter, Sherri Prather and husband Brad of Skiatook; 10 grandchildren, MaKyla, DaLaney, and Rebecca Hudson of Owasso, Lane Carter, Samantha, Matthew, Johnnathan, and Blake Preslar of Sperry, Sadie Prather of Skiatook, and Sheridan Soules of Sperry; one sister, Sharon Harvel of Skiatook; five brothers, Lloyd and wife Blanche of Avant, Philip and wife Judy of Skiatook, Donald and wife Betty of Collinsville, Cecil and wife Terry of Sperry, and Tony and wife Rhonda of Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Casket Escorts for the services were Jerald Wayne Harvel, John Harvel, Mark Hudson, Anthony Lloyd Hudson, Ryan Hudson, Donald Hudson, Jr., Joseph Hudson, Clinton Hudson, and Anthony Paul Hudson.
Honorary Casket Escorts for the services were Mark Marshall and Neil Marshall.
