Memorial services for Freida Marie (Linthicum) Vaughn, 89, of Sperry, OK, were held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Buryl Hughes officiated. Honorary casket bearers were Karon (Linthicum) Hand, Mark Linthicum, Kevin Brown, Larry Brown, and Amanda (Linthicum) Clevenger.
Freida was born January 30, 1939, in Okemah, OK to Fred and Geneva Linthicum. She passed away November 9, 2023, in Tulsa, OK.
Freida attended Sperry High School class of 1957 where she met Ronald Vaughn and had 3 children. She worked at Mapco, American Airlines, Chief Freight Lines, Metro Warehouse, then finished her work career working at Metro for her late son-in-law Randy Nightingale cutting wire for harnesses for caterpillar equipment. Freida helped with the Sperry Baptist Church food pantry, she bowled in a league, enjoyed dancing and singing – she sang with our dad at several weddings.
She is survived by her son, Richard Lee “Ricky” Vaughn of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter, Cynthia Renee “Cindy” Nelson and husband, John, of Edmond; daughter, Susan Julane Ridenour and husband, Jerry Bob, Jr. of Skiatook; grandchildren, Zach Vaughn of GA, Collin & Jennifer Rader of CA, Trena Rader of GA, Monica & Brad Coble of Tulsa, OK, Jeremy & Jessica Ridenour of Tulsa, OK, Dugan Ridenour of Tulsa, OK and Samantha Wagnon of Tulsa, OK; bonus grandsons, Joshua & Diandra Nelson of Oklahoma City, and Joey & Jessica Nelson of Tecumseh, OK; 18 great-grandchildren; Addison Johnson, Mia Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Tripp Coble, Elle Ridenour, Junuh Ridenour, Rho Ridenour, Karder Wagnon, Rafe Ridenour, Boston Ridenour, Eva Wagnon, Andrew Rader, Cate Rader, L.J. Rader, Malaki Rader, Leah Rader, Makel Rader, and Bryson Nelson; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Geneva Linthicum; brother, Robert “Bob” Linthicum and wife, Patty; sister, Mary Dingler; brother, Donald Linthicum and wife, Marlene; brother, Darrell Linthicum and wife, Laverne; sister, Judy Brown and husband, Melvin; daughter-in-law, Joanne Vaughn; and son-in-law, Randy Nightingale.
We would like to give a special thank you to Jack & Susie Searan and Ginger Salyer for all the help they provided for our mom her last month before she went into the hospital.
Services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
