Fredrick Vernon Reed

Funeral Services for Fredrick Vernon Reed, 58, of Catoosa, were held Thursday October 16, 2008 at the Destiny Life Church in Claremore, OK. Reverend Tom Williams and Reverend James Hudson officiated and burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. Casketbearers were Chris Reed, Jeremiah Hathaway, Matt Simpson, Brent Caldwell, Gary Leggett, and Wesley Reed. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Fredrick was born May 3, 1950 in Tulsa to Elbert Vernon and Helen L. (Geiger) Reed. He passed away October 12, 2008 in Tulsa, OK.

He was a former Tulsa Police Officer and he owned his own business machine company. He also owned a roofing and construction business. He was a retired Registered Nurse. He served in the U.S. Army as a Green Beret in the 8th Special Forces. He liked to play golf, go fishing, watch movies, and make model ships and trains. He was a Christian. He loved people and laughter, and he had a good sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, JoAn Reed; sons, Andrew Reed and wife Rachel and Christopher Reed and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Joel, Micah, Rebecca, Nathaniel, Trinity, and Paige; sister, Linda Loomis of Wyomissing, PA; brothers, Don Reed of Branson, MO and Bill Reed of Pryor, OK; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert V. and Helen L. (Geiger) Reed.
