Funeral Services for Forrest William Holycross, 84, of Tulsa, were held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the Calvary Tabernacle Church in Tulsa, OK. The Brother Audrey Poteet officiated and burial was in the Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken, Arrow. Casket Bearers were Chris Phelan, Nick Holycross, Ricky Holycross, II, Steve Ford, Forrest Holycross, and Michael Graham. Honorary Casket Bearers were Joe Albus, Thai Thompson, Nolan Holycross, Gary James, T. J. Thompson and Jimmie Torres. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Forrest was born July 1, 1929 in Humrick, IL to Floyd Herman and Pansy Armedia (Johnson) Holycross. He passed away March 7, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.
Forrest was a delivery driver for Mason’s Furniture, Tulsa Produce, and Seal Co. He loved music, and played the guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, bass and piano. Forrest played basketball, baseball, volleyball, badminton, golf, horse shoes, ping pong and pool. He also liked hunting, fishing swimming, and playing games with the grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Holycross of Turley; sons, Roger Holycross of Turley and Michael Holycross of Murfreesburo, TN; daughter, Carrol Graham of Turley; brother, Dewey Holycross of IN; sister, Lucy Meeker of IN; 18 grandkids; 35 great-grandkids with one on the way; 8 great-great-grandkids; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Pansy Holycross; brother, Floyd Holycross; son, Rick Holycross; and granddaughter, Cheresa Carol Holycross.
