Evelyn Sue Rider was born September 11, 1941, in Bunch, OK, to Sam Rider, Sr. and Polly Ann (Leach) Rider. She passed away October 17, 2023, in Tulsa, OK.

Sue was one of 5 brothers and 5 sisters. She attended Haskell Schools. She married Denzil Ray Dawson of Tahlequah and together they had four children. She then had another girl and another boy. In the 60’s Sue worked at Pepsi-Cola in Tulsa and later worked with her mother as a nurse’s aide at Doctor’s Hospital in Tulsa in the 70’s while raising her six children. Sue went on to retire in the 80’s and took care of her home until her passing. Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, David Dawson, and Lisa Broaddrick; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joanne Rider, Sally Shell, Richard Rider, and Theresa Rider; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Clyde William Wilbur; and children, Rhonda Dawson, Susan Dawson, Keith Cruse, and Gary Dawson.

Arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
