Funeral services for Evelyn “Jeannie” Hallford, 69, of Sperry, were held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sperry, Oklahoma. Elder Steve VanMeter and Elder C.H. Whiteman officiated. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, Oklahoma. Honorary casket bearers were Bob Glasgow, Frank Kalcich, Rick Lamberson, Rusty Lamberson, Tom Seaton, and Stan Tyler.
Jeannie was born August 12, 1941, in Skiatook, OK to Roy and Arizona (Elliott) Taylor. She passed away January 1, 2011 at her home in Sperry, OK.
A 1959 graduate of Sperry High School, Jeannie was known by many local citizens. During her young adult life, she obtained an education in cosmetology and worked for local businesses including the Sperry snack bar, the County Election Board, and the school cafeteria. She was an active member of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and volunteered her services in multiple ways. She was also a member of the Red Castle Gun Club.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Hallford of the home; son, James Hallford of El Reno, OK; sister, Vonna Kalcich and husband Frank of Sperry; aunts, Ann Lamberson of Collinsville and Cletus Guthrie of Independence, MO; nieces, Cynthia Tibbitts of Skiatook and Deanna Kalcich of Tempe, AZ; nephew, Michael Kalcich and wife Jamie of Edmond; and a host of cousins, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Arizona Taylor; and her grandparents, Bascome and Bertha Elliott.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
