Evelyn Bishop

After graduating high school Evelyn participated in Nurses Aid training at Sowela Technical Community College in Lake Charles. She served as a nurse’s aide until her retirement.

Evelyn had an immense love for animals and adored her many cats, dogs , and pet chickens across the years as well as any other creature who came across her pathway.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Alvan McGee, then by husband Lawrence Bishop, grandson Dwight Allen McGee and great grandson Michael Kent Rutherford. She is survived by her three children, twin sons Alvin McGee and wife Wanda of Lake Charles, Allen McGee of Welch, La. , and daughter Linda “Sue” Rutherford and husband Jimmy of Tulsa, OK. Evelyn is also survived by nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Joel Faulk of Lake Charles.
