Funeral services for Erma Joyce Still, of Tulsa, were held Friday, September 14, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Kennith Stacy officiated and a private family committal followed. Honorary casket bearers were Lorraine O’Brien, Terry O’Brien, Jerry Ice, Jr., Matthew Austin. Bob Berryman, and Drew Calvert.
Joyce was born January 30, 1931 in Chetopa, KS to Glenn Frances and Herma (Pefley) Lewis. She passed away September 7, 2012 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 81.
Shortly after Joyce was born, the family relocated to Bartlesville where she attended school. On February 12, 1975, Joyce married the love of her life, Kennith “Hoppy” Still and they remained devoted to each other until her passing after a lengthy battle with cancer. Joyce was a fun, loving, caring person, and a fastidious housekeeper. Joyce was of the Baptist faith. She loved the holidays, and decorated each room in her home for every holiday. Joyce worked in the service industry most of her life; most recently as a smoke shop clerk. She genuinely cared about each customer that she met along the way.
She is survived by her husband, Kennith “Hoppy” Still; children, Connie Stacy and husband Jim, Charles Greenwood and partner Rebecca Beavers, and Carol Calvert and husband Tim; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Glen Doyle Lewis and wife Jackie; one niece; one nephew; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Herma Lewis; daughter-in-law, Johnny Greenwood; one infant grandson; special aunt, Inez (Pefley) McGuire; and one nephew.
