Emily was born on June 21, 2000, to Bruce Allan and Jamie Beth (Coyle) Scott. She passed away November 13, 2021, in Sperry, OK.
Emily was a 4th generation parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the 4th generation to graduate from Sperry High School – where you are not just a classmate, you are family. She had so many memories of ditching classes in high school and spending time together at the lake with all of her friends she had since kindergarten. Traveling had been one of her most favorite things to do. It all started on a road trip with Grammy and Grandpa. Emily got her driving hours in for her learner’s permit driving to and from Florida. She marked all the places she had been and was always so excited to see where she had left to go. Emily loved going to the gym and out lifting the guys, having a playlist for every occasion, and going out for ice cream. Emily attended Tulsa Community College to get her Associates degree and was so excited to go to the University of Oklahoma and not have to be in a dorm. However, the pandemic shortened her time in Norman. She came back home to finish the year. Being home around family and friends made Emily reconsider where she needed to be. Oklahoma State University is a very well-known place for people in Sperry. Emily was so excited and happy rooming with one of her best friends and having endless conversations with her first love, Kadar.
We love you Emily, and we will miss your love, your smile, your sweet voice, and the happiness you gave to all of us.
She is survived by her parents, Bruce and Jamie Scott; sister, Elly Scott; the love of her life, Kadar Cohlmia, grandparents, Jim and Beth Coyle, and Jerry and Sam Scott; great-grandma, Julia Coyle; aunts and uncles, Tonya and Ray Niver, Dan & Amber Scott, Nathan and Rachel Coyle, Amber & Sean McConnell, Michael Scott, and Joe and Alisha Scott; cousins, Tyler Niver Ashley Niver, Walker Niver, Alex Scott, Brayden Darrell, Jonathan Pettigrew, Skye Ketcher, Raynie Ketcher, Layla Scott, Jojo Scott, Axel Coyle, and Aubrey Niver; a very, very long list of DeMuths, Coyles, and Scotts; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, James Coyle, and Jim and Joyce DeMuth, and aunt, Tamara Scott.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in Emily’s memory be made to the Jim and Joyce DeMuth Scholarship Fund.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
