Funeral services for Elmer Fulton Jones, of Pawhuska, were held Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Neloganey Baptist Church in Pawhuska, OK. Reverend Jimmy Hatfield officiated and burial was in Pawhuska City Cemetery in Pawhuska, OK. Casket bearers were Micheal McGuire, Jack Blankinship, Stephen Jones, Hayden Blankinship, Jason Jones, Jared Jones, Jeff Jones, and Holden Blankinship. Honorary casket bearers were D.J. Jones, Matt Jones, Jared Thrasher, and Kenny Standish.
Elmer was born September 22, 1933 in Foraker, OK to Elmer Newton and Frances Isabella (Longley) Jones. He passed away February 9, 2012 in Bartlesville, OK at the age of 78.
He retired as the superintendent of the Hominy City Cemetery, where he worked there with his brother, Billy Wayne. He was a long time butcher at the Pawhuska city ice plant. His hobbies were squirrel hunting, fishing, reading and spending time with his family. He loved life, he loved his cows he raised from babies and loved when they brought a new calf into this world. He loved to drive out the light plant road on his way back home from picking his paper up and going to the post office. He married his wife in Pawhuska on September 24, 1955 and renewed their vows on September 24, 2011.
He was survived by wife Mary Sue Jones of the home; his sons, Mike and Stephanie Jones of Oologah, Randall and Dolores Jones of Pawhuska, and Steve Jones of Ponca City; daughters, Teri and Jack Blankinship of Pawhuska, Pam and Kenny McGee of Pawhuska, 21 wonderful grandchildren and 26 wonderful great grandchildren and two on the way, 4 wonderful ex-daughter in laws Kathy, Lisa, Kelley and Jackie; 2 sisters and 1 brother along with a host of family, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Frances Jones; his beloved son Fulton Ray Jones and two brothers, Milton Jones and Floyd Jones.
