Ellamae Ruth Mierow

Funeral services for EllaMae Ruth (Brewer) Mierow, 67, of Sperry, OK, were held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Andy Anquoe officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK.

EllaMae was born March 29, 1950, in Alameda, CA. to Manuel "Bunt" and Ethel Polesie (Ireland) Brewer. She passed away February 10, 2018.

After Ella graduated from high school, she worked at an answering service, and later owned her own answering service. Ella eventually went to work for the Appeal Democrat, and she retired from there, after working in the customer service department. Ella went on to meet the love of her life, Kenneth Allen Mierow when their children introduced them. Ella and Ken were married in 2007, and they had many happy memories of their very large and extended family. Ella and Ken had many fun trips, and had just completed the move from Marysville, CA to Sperry, OK to fulfill Ella's retirement dream. Ella loved to spend time with her family, have Sunday dinners, work in her beautiful garden, and decorate extravagantly for the many holidays. Her favorite flower was the rose.  She inherited her love of gardening from her mother, Ethel. Ella delighted in making gifts for others, and sending thoughtful cards and photographs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Ethel Brewer; aunt, Curley; and uncles, Lee and Oscar "Dock" Ireland.

Survivors include her husband, Ken Mierow; children, Steven Mierow, Phillip Mierow and wife, Teresa, Everett Mierow, Tierre Wilkins and wife, DeVonna, Jessie Grigsby, Amanda Strang and husband, Ronald, and Jenny Fox; grandchildren, Joshua, Rebecca, Caedyn, Allie and Troy; sister, Teresa Hamilton; nephew, Hunter Hamilton; aunts and uncles, Vera Johnson, Mildred and Charles Sisler, Sharon and Dennis Wilson, Peggy Sherman, and JoAnn Martin; numerous cousins; and many other relatives and friends.
