Funeral services for Ella Mae (Hinshaw) Wilkinson, 82, of Owasso, were held Monday, July 20, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Ron Robinson officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Wyatt Wheeler and Phil Prier. Honorary casket bearers were Terry Lee Branham, James Owen, Jr., Wade Christian, J.D. Higgins, Philip Petty, and Dustin Higgins.
Ella Mae was born August 27, 1932 in Winfield, KS to Homer Earl and Zolo Alice (Thomson) Hinshaw. She passed away July 16, 2015 in Owasso, OK.
Ella Mae loved to sew and she made many prom and wedding dresses. She enjoyed sitting on the back porch to watch and feed the birds. Ella Mae had a sense of adventure. She liked driving on the back country roads where she hadn’t been before, “just to see where they went”. Ella Mae was a good cook and enjoyed entertaining and hosting many family and classmate reunions. Ella Mae and her husband Richard enjoyed traveling and going fishing. She enjoyed living in Michigan for a little while as a child. Ella Mae was baptized in the creek at Camp Egan in Tahlequah.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Richard Wilkinson; daughters, Cheryl Christian and husband Mike, Sandi Higgins and husband David, Jeanette McKinzie and husband Ed; Susan Owen and husband James, Linda Prier and husband Phil, and Nancy Branham; grandchildren, Sydney Cooper and husband Jesse, Wade Christian, Mandy Butler and husband Matt, J.D. Higgins and wife Jamie, Dustin Higgins and wife Carmen, Philip Petty and wife Sherry, Pamela Petty, Jayce Owen, James Owen, Jr., Lori Westfall and husband Alex, Karen Milligan, and Terry Lee Branham; over 20 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her; parents, Homer and Zolo Hinshaw; first husband of 18 years, J.R. Sturgeon; and son-in-law, Terry Branham.
